Lydia Gilroy (b.1992) is an emerging painter whose work explores the relationship between the body and landscape. She is an alumni of the Royal Drawing School and has exhibited in London and Derbyshire. Lydia works as a full time art psychotherapist and is based in Manchester, UK.
Lydia creates from within a chronically ill body, allowing its rhythms, limits, and resilience to guide mark-making. The shifting natural shapes in the works become both refuge and record, reflecting personal and collective histories. She approaches each work as an act of quiet resistance, reclaiming space for slowness, vulnerability, and care.
